Bates IT Limited, Pledge to Carbon Reduction Plan

We are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

At Bates IT, we believe the business community has a key role in tackling carbon reduction. We’re committed to leading by example.

Climate change is one of the most pressing problems facing our world today. It affects everyone – from families worrying about their children’s futures, to pension funds deciding where to invest. The science is clear: to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, business, government and society need to work together to transition to a net zero economy by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Calculations and Measurements

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past. They were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. The Baseline is the reference point against which emission reduction can be measured.

This year, 2022 Bates IT Limited has calculated and reported on its emissions. As a result the calendar year of 2021 will be our baseline for emissions. Moving forward, any reductions in emissions will be measured against the 2021 baseline year.

Here are just a few of the ways we plan to achieve net Zero by 2050

• 100% renewable energy procurement for all offices under Bates IT low-rational control
• All electrical and electronic waste disposed of through the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive
• Business travel and employee commuting, to include company-owned vehicle upgrade to one plug-in hybrid electric vehicle
• Drive energy efficiency improvements in all of our offices with upgraded heating systems
• The reduction of waste generated in operations, and the end of life treatment and use of sold products.
